Remy trained at the school and as an associate of the Urdang Academy, which was then at Covent Garden, London. At 16 she was offered a scholarship at the Urdang Academy, where she went on to study for a further 3 years.
Remy is advanced in Lyrical, Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Partner Work, Tap and Singing and gives to the school her wonderful, innovative choreography, which has won us many acclamations.

Kerry Cant - BA Hons Degree Music
Kerry is an established and well known music teacher within our county, who gained her BA Hons Degree in Music with qualified teacher status at Bishop Grosseteste College Lincoln
She has a great love of music and singing, which she expresses in her role as a teacher in a local Primary Academy,a singing at a local theatre arts school and with us here at Sandy Gray.
Kerry specialises in vocal development and, as a gifted teacher and facilitator, has also achieved great success with a number of regional choirs in local music festivals and has also achieved the BBC School Choir of the Year Award
Kerry is a gifted singer who also plays piano, guitar, viola and the recorder. Her love of music and teaching is evident in every class that she teaches; she loves to see her children succeed and achieve their true potential

Annie started dancing at three years old at our school and at eight years old gained a place as an associate of The Urdang Academy,London, where she studied at weekends. She took part in numerous annual shows, festivals, and local performances and was very successful competitively, being nominated several times for an IDTA scholarship. At eighteen, she successfully auditioned for Phil Winstons Theatreworks in Blackpool, where she trained profesionally for three years, gaining her teaching qualifications and performing in several shows. Annie is back with us to pass on her love and passion of dancing to all our students. She is delighted to be the teacher of our DUNSTON branch.

Principal - Mrs Sandy Papworth F.I.D.T.A. Hons (Miss Sandy)
Sandy started dancing at an early age and it soon became apparent it was her first love and that she had a talent for it. She went on to win many prizes , including runner up for the 'Beryl Grey Award', a prestigious ballet competition. At 16 she continued her training at the highly acclaimed Royal Ballet School. Sandy performed in numerous ballets, musical theatre and pantomimes and has been choreographer to many shows, such as, Oklahoma, West Side Story, Annie Get Your Gun and UK tours. She loves to pass on her expertise in Ballet to her pupils and her high standard has been evident in those past students, who have gone on to pursue a career in performing and teaching.

Libby Thacker  BA Hons. in Dance Theatre​    (Miss Libby)


Libby started dancing at our school at just 4 years old .She also attended the Urdang Associate Programme in London from the age of 8. When she turned 18 she started her professional training at Doreen Bird College on a one year foundation course. Following this she successfully gained a place on a 3 year Degree program at London Studio Centre.             Throughout her training she advanced in all areas of dance and on completion gained her First Class Honours Degree in Dance Theatre. During her final year Libby became a member of Intoto Contemporary Company, which toured the UK. Since graduating in 2014 Libby has continually worked on various cruise ships and numerous venues in the UK. after completing four contracts at sea as part of production cast she was promoted to Dance Captain and has recently taught and choreographed for various upcoming production shows onboard cruise ships and had the pleasure of assisting at auditions for these contracts.Libby competed her teaching qualifications whilst training with ourselves and has continually taught at the school between her contracts.

Brian Papworth - School Office Manager
Always a happy face to greet you!!!
Brian, whilst no dancer, is no stranger to the stage, having been in a pro band for a number of years and later an Entertainments Manager for a large holiday and leisure company. Brian is present at most classes to  sort any problems or queries you may have.

Debbie and Jo, the lovely ladies of our dance shop 'Dance Togs'.
They will only be too pleased to help you with uniform and any dance related clothing and accessories.
Debbie is also often busy helping us in organising shows, competitions, exams and other school events. A mother of 2 dancing daughters, she is well qualified!
